Investment continues apace at Lingfield Point »

DEMAND for our workspace in our neighbourhood has grown so strong that we’re investing £700,000 in further development.

Following on from our £1million infrastucture upgrade, we’re now looking to help future users of our lovely business park by redeveloping a previously unserviceable space and turning it into a car park for a further 250-plus vehicles.  This improvement will certainly make a difference when potential customers are looking for a home for their business – as well as a home for their staff.

More recent arrivals at the site have joined major customers such as Amec foster wheeler, Capita and the Student Loans Company, swelling the number of people based on site to more than 3,000.

Eddie Humphries, estate manager at Lingfield Point, said: “More and more businesses are seeing the benefits of being based here, from our convenient location, which links directly into the North East’s roads infrastructure, to the excellent onsite facilities.

Clearbell, which manages the fund that owns Lingfield Point, now plans to demolish unused buildings that were formerly part of the old Rothmans factory, freeing up 70,000sqft of space for new use.

“This is part of Clearbell’s continuing investment to developing both office and industrial provision at Lingfield Point,” said Eddie.

“We’ve recently made a £1m upgrade to our infrastructure, and this latest move is part of our plans to futureproof the site as we continue to grow.”

"Its great news to see such investment in Lingfield Point and Darlington" says David Jackson

“Its great news to see such investment at Lingfield Point” says David Jackson

David Jackson of agents Jackson and Partners said accessibility and facilities are   major deciding factors when businesses choose Lingfield Point as their base.

“Car parking is a fundamental requirement for any business, and it’s great news that Lingfield Point is making this further investment,” he said.

“The business park also has a strong commitment to supporting convenient public transport and car sharing for everyone who works here, which organisations certainly appreciate.

“Add this to Lingfield’s excellent on-site facilities – ranging from a café and nursery to access to high speed, fibre optic connectivity, the 24-hour concierge service and fantastic security – and it’s easy to see why we get so many enquiries.”

Satisfaction – or your money back »

We’re so confident new customers will be happy here at Lingfield Point that we’re making an offer that’s hard to refuse – be 100 per cent delighted –  or your money back.

In typical Lingfield Point-style it’s a promise that’s a first in the property market – borrowed from the service industries we base our culture of support on.

It’s this type of initiative that singles out the business park as special. This is the best postcode in town for office space and we provide unbeatable onsite facilities as well as activities to enrich the working day.

Any newcomers who aren’t delighted can just ask for the rental portion of their first month’s payments back – but we’re sure that’s a cheque we’ll never have to write! *T and Cs.

Darlington Cares and so do we! »

With over 2500 employees and over 50 businesses based at Lingfield Point, we’re always keen to look at initiatives that strengthen the neighbourhood feel of our business park.

When we heard about an idea to join with other leading employers committed to making Darlington a better place through employee volunteering – we jumped at the chance to become founding members and Darlington Cares – a town-wide initiative – is now alive and ready for action!

We’ve been told that our offices have soul – and this initiative is a perfect way showing this and getting many of our neighbourhood pals involved in an inspiring and practical way.  We think that combining our hands, head and heart (and soul) together with community projects that need support will have a massive impact on their success but business will also reap rewards through connecting with their local community and encouraging a great team working ethic with a morale-boosting bonus!

Darlington Cares will be working with local charities and community projects to build an engaging and coordinated volunteering programme that addresses Darlington’s community needs, particularly in areas of disadvantage.

Darlington Cares with their Secret Santa appeal.

The Darlington campus of Teesside University is hosting the initiative including Programme Manager, Katie Blundell, who is working on the initial programme of activities, including a Secret Santa scheme for the borough’s looked after children in care.

Katie says: ‘we will be rolling out a full programme of activity for 2013, consisting of annual schemes and team challenges. Not only will these activities make a real difference to the local community, but they also offer positive benefits for employers and their employees through skills development and team building opportunities.’

We’re proud to be associated with this caring and thoughtful initiative but if you want to be involved in Darlington Cares or any charity and community groups who would like to discuss the possibility of a project should contact Katie direct on 01642 738970, email: k.blundell@tees.ac.uk.

Buy Local is Best (again!) »

We are pleased to announce that the ‘BUY LOCAL’ business expo exhibition is returning to Darlington! As one of the founding members of the event, Lingfield Point, Darlington, are thrilled to be offering our support to the ‘BUY LOCAL’ scheme.

The event is organised by Darlington Business Club and will be hosted at Darlington College on Wednesday October 31 2012 from 10am until 4pm.

The ethos of the ‘BUY LOCAL’ scheme very similarly echoes ours here at Lingfield Point. The aim is to encourage all LOCAL businesses in the Darlington area to turn to local companies to fulfil their goods and service needs.

Exhibitors will include BIB Insurance, Darlington Borough Council, Sherwoods, Barclaycard and NEPO; all local goods and service providers demonstrating the real economic, social and environment benefits to Darlington as a whole.

As our business park provides award-winning office space for over 50 companies, both international and local, we can safely say we practice what we preach. Whenever we can ‘BUY LOCAL’ we do so, demonstrating our support of the local community and our high regards for the entire ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ initiative.

With our most recent customer being the global engineering firm AMEC, making hay in Meadow, we know it is vital to promote and introduce local connections know matter what the size of your company to ensure capital is safely circulating in the Darlington and district economy.

Our ‘offices with soul’ don’t just provide unique recycled office space to thousands of customers but also a lifestyle.

Lingfield Life is part and parcel of the package we sell and with a new bus route cruising through our neighbourhood and dozens of events promoting local businesses we are delighted to again be supporting a scheme that is so close to our own sentimental values.

So, make it a date in your diary and get supporting your local businesses

-          You’ll soon be reaping the benefits of ‘BUYING LOCAL
